I may have the worlds pickiest eater living in my house. In fact I may have 2 of the worlds pickiest eaters living in my house, Matt being one of them and Chesa the other. Chesa likes the most random things. Most of the time she will not eat strawberries or blueberries, but will scarf down a whole plate of homemade kale chips, so odd to me. Anyhow, we've been on a juicing kick since the new year and that's usually the easiest way to get veggies down my children! I recently took a fellow mother's advice on IG and added spinach to the girls juice, although juicing spinach you don't get much out of but at least I know it's in there. I'll try kale next week. I've also tried a few pinterest recipes, my latest zucchini pizza bites. They ended up being delicious in my opinion, the girls on the other hand didn't quite appreciate them as much as I did.

A bit of Nature
Last week we didn't get out much, so I ended up contemplating whether or not I was going to be able to handle the two wild girls alone on a hike. A hike that just so happens to be on a trail 30 minutes from town. I ended up taking a leap of faith, like I do often in life, and said to myself "A couple of hours won't kill me." Thankfully I was right, we had a great time and the girls were surprisingly cooperative.
P.S.- I'm pretty sure I saw Ryan Gossling hiking out there as well, ha ha.

Vintage Love
A few pretty little things I just adore, vintage baby clothes. Looking at those colors and dainty detailing makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Birthday Parties & Star Gazing
This last weekend played out just as I wish every weekend would. Full of adventure, travels and just being around family and friends. Friday we ate breakfast at our favorite little diner on the town square and as we were checking out the local theater Matt ran into an old friend. After catching up, she was kind enough to snap a little family picture of us. Saturday we loaded up and headed North for my niece's birthday, which was held in one of the most charming little backyards. Good music, good food and good company made this day one to remember. Later that night we were able to get the girls to sleep just in time to watch the meteor shower! Sunday was a theme park day. Yes, we made a Branson trip and went to Silver Dollar City again :) I mean hey, what good are season passes if you don't use them and the girls are only "Free Admission" for a little while longer. Sadly I have no pictures from Sunday, all I have are the mental ones. There's the one of Chesa on her first offical ride, the kiddie frog ride. She loved it and I lost my stomach on that ride more than any other ride that day. There's the one of us, as a family riding Tom and Huck's River Blast, which we initially thought would be a fun family boat ride. Well, it was NOT. Being in that boat was like having a huge target painted on your face, inviting people to shoot you with water. And well, the girls didn't appreciate that at all. There's the picture of Malaya and Chesa having a blast covered in dirt head to toe, oh and of course the one of Malaya singing Happy Birthday to her grandpa, pretty darn cute. Like I said, I wish every weekend were this great.

Where we've been
In the last post I stated that we were in "recovery mode" from different illnesses, well that wasn't the case. In fact Malaya got sick in bed 3 different times that same night, poor girl was miserable. Chesa is almost finished with her Pneumonia antibiotics and is in good spirits. As for me, well, it's nothing 5 to 7 days can't handle ;) Since we've been feeling under the weather we weren't able to do much this past week, but here are a few shots from an 80's get together. Monday we went to the closest theme park (Silver Dollar City) and celebrated our anniversary, then came home and drank wine in bed :)

Breakfast Club
Here in our neck of the woods we are recovering from sickness! Today finally felt more back to the norm so I whipped us up some eggs, bacon and fruit and we had some good eatin'. Nothing's better than family breakfast while singing and dancing along to some good music, 50's tunes of course ;) I haven't yet mastered embedding music players to my blog, so I've added a picture and a link to some of our favorite oldies morning music, enjoy!
